A Pokémon Build & Battle Box is the Prerelease kit: 4 booster packs of a new set, a promo card and a deck to build them into. Here’s what’s inside, how it’s used, and what a pack in one costs in New Zealand today against a bundle or an Elite Trainer Box of the same set.

The Delta Reign Build & Battle Box
It’s sold from 24 October 2026 at participating Play! Pokémon stores, for the set’s Prerelease events: 13 days before Delta Reign is released on 6 November 2026.
It holds 4 Delta Reign booster packs, a 40-card ready-to-play deck and one of four foil promo cards. The promos are Masquerain, Magmortar, Enamorus and Kommo-o (ICv2, 1 October 2026).
How a Build & Battle Box is used at a Prerelease
- Find a participating store. Prerelease events run at participating Play! Pokémon stores, and each store sets its own entry and schedule: ask what the entry includes.
- Open the packs and build. The cards you pull go into the box’s deck, so you play with the new set from the first game.
- Play. Everyone at the event plays a deck built the same way, from the same set.
Not going to a Prerelease? Stores sell Build & Battle Boxes too, before and after release day: the prices above are theirs.

Build & Battle Box or Build & Battle Stadium?
A Build & Battle Stadium is two Build & Battle kits plus extra packs, for two players. That’s 11 packs in Scarlet & Violet sets, 12 packs in Sword & Shield sets, against the box’s 4. Not every set has one.
Buying one safely
Buy a Build & Battle Box the way you’d buy any sealed product: from a store you trust, checking the wrap and seals when it arrives. A listing of an opened box, with the deck but not the packs, isn’t the same product, whatever its price. The guide to avoiding resealed product has the checks to make.
Where to buy
DexCompare puts New Zealand stores side by side: each one’s own listed price in NZD, excluding shipping, ranked by price and stock. Stores pay nothing to be listed, and commissions never change the order.
Buying from a store you haven’t used before? Check its contact details, delivery costs and returns policy first, and check the shrink-wrap and seals when your order arrives.
